Vassen Lollipop Violet Circle Lenses (Pinky Paradise)

   VASSEN LOLLIPOP VIOLET LENSE REVIEW

(FROM PINKY PARADISE ONLINE LENS STORE)

Ahoy hoy, everyone! Thanks for checking out my second lense review. Today I'm doing a review sponsored by Pinky Paradise for the violet lenses from Vassen's Lollipop collection.

    LENSE FACTS

These lenses are 14.5 mm in diameter with a water content of 42% and a base curve of 8.6 mm. In addition to this, the lenses are available in a prescription of up to -10.00. There are six other lenses in the Lollipop collection that come in pink, gray, green, blue, brown, and red.

    BUYING & RECEIVING

As always, Pinky Paradise processed my order and shipped my lenses very quickly. Since this pair was sponsored in return for my last review, I didn't go through the typical ordering process and talked directly with someone from their online shop instead. They had excellent customer service skills and answered my emails quickly and efficiently!

I received my lenses individually packed into small, glass vials full of lense solution. In my next review, I will focus on the bottles with an instructional on how to properly open them! In addition to my lenses, I received a super cute animal lense case and a velcro hair clip (used to keep your hair out of your face when you're washing up or putting on make-up).

If you use the code "robo-neko" at check-out, you'll receive an extra gift with your order!

    PREPARING & WEARING

Although it may be tempting to immediately wear your fancy new lenses, there are a few things you need to do first! If this is your first time wearing lenses, you should quickly read through Pinky Paradise's New User Guide as well as their Wear and Care Guide

The most important things to do before you wear your lenses are:
  1. Wash your hands with soap and hot water for at least 20 seconds before touching your lenses.
  2. Place your lenses in your new animal lense case with clean contact solution and allow them to soak for at least eight hours.
These two steps ensure that your lenses will be clean and free of potentially harmful bacteria before you place them in your eyes. Without proper washing, you run the risk of getting an eye infection and that's no fun for anyone.

After the eight hours were up, I popped the lenses in my eyes. For the sake of comparison, here's a picture of my eyes without lenses:

And here's a picture of my eyes in natural, outdoor light while wearing Vassen's Lollipop lenses in Violet:

It's easy to see that these lenses have a vibrant violet colour with lovely yellow flecks around the edges. They also have a solid black rim around the edges. This black rim is responsible -- in part -- for the intense enlarging effect the lenses cause. It helps to compensate for the lenses small-ish diameter (compared to 15.0 mm lenses).

If you look closely at the picture, you'll be able to see that my natural eye colour does show through at the centre of the lenses. This is something that will normally only be a concern for people with lighter eyes if you're wearing your lenses outside during the day or in a brightly lit room. If your eyes are on the darker side, the exposed iris won't be as noticeable as it's closer in colour with your pupils and it should sort of blend in.

As I mentioned earlier, these lenses are available in a prescription of up to -10.00. Unfortunately, my eyesight is not great, so I ordered a pair in my prescription. I was apprehensive about it at first as I've never had any experience with prescription circle lenses before, however that apprehension turned out to be unnecessary! These lenses work like a dream! They are easily as effective as the normal contact lenses that I purchased from my optometrist for wearing on a daily basis.

    THE VERDICT

 Comfort: 4/5
 Colour Intensity: 5/5
 Enlargement: 5/5
 Vision: 5/5
 Overall: 4.75/5

    CONCLUSION

These are beautiful lenses that are bright, big, and perfect for a variety of different looks. You can pull off anything from dolly to Daenerys with these and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for vibrant purple lenses.

You can buy them from Pinky Paradise, an online costume lense store with an easy-to-navigate website, excellent customer service,  and great prices. They even accept PayPal!
